Jim Ward, MA, ACC, Executive Coach, HR Consultant, Published Author

Based in Newport Beach, CA, Jim is a Human Capital consultant and a certified Professional Coach. He provides HR consulting, as well as executive, career and organizational coaching through his own firm, NEW Directions Consulting. He has over 25 years of experience in corporate Human Resources and Consulting, including domestic and international positions. Prior to starting his consulting practice Jim spent 15 years at Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) as their Executive Vice President, Global Head of Human Resources. Before PIMCO, he was with Salomon Brothers, Inc. where he held executive level positions in their New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong offices. In his seven years in Asia he led the expansion of Salomon’s business throughout the Asia/Pacific region. Having had the benefit of living and working in Asia during his corporate career, Jim understands the importance of diversity, cultural sensitivity and globalization. Jim's prior work experience includes consulting with several global human capital consulting firms, including Willis Towers Watson and Lee Hecht Harrison. 

Jim earned his undergraduate degree from The University of St. Thomas and his Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from The University of Houston. He received his Professional Coaching Certification (PCC) through the Columbia University Coaching Certification program in New York. He is also a Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coach Federation, and certified in a variety of psychometric assessment tools. Jim holds accreditation as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) through the Society of Human Resources Certification Institute. From 2004 through 2007 served on the Advisory Committee of the Center for Human Resources at Wharton Business School. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and professional association/groups.
